The Do's and Don'ts of Window Tint Maintenance
- After installing your window film, you'll notice slight haziness and water pockets. Wait for 30 days for it to be fully cured. The curing process is slow because the remaining water used during installation must evaporate through the film. Note that sputtered and heavy security films take the longest to be fully cured.
- You may clean the film only after it has completely dried. Use water mixed with a little soap or a normal glass cleaner.
- After washing the window with the soap solution, use a squeegee to dry it with overlapping strokes.
- For optimum results, you can clean the glass with ammonia-containing products. Just remember to use little quantity and don't soak the glass in it.
- The surface of the film is coated with a scratch-resistant coating. This does not mean it is scratch proof. So don't use any abrasive cleaners, industrial strength glass cleaners, and/or any cleaning tools that may scratch the film.
